Here are some pictures taken on our recent trip to Panama City to see Bud Pierce, W4KIX, a NTS legend. Bud, in his earlier years, was real active in Alabama, being AENB net mgr plus other ARRL appointments.

Next month Bud will be 94 years young.

He normally runs 800 watts plus on all bands. Several weeks or so ago one side of his open wire feed line broke adjacent to a terminal mast on the flat roof of his garage about a foot from an insulator at top of this mast.. He had to operate at reduced power due to this problem.

My # 3 daughter, Lorie, and I went up on the roof and repaired it under the guidance of Bud. He is now back to his normal power.
